So Happy Together!

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

For those of you that live in the USA, happy President's Day weekend.

And happy Chinese New Year, too!  It's the year of the dog!

I am here today to share a layout that I made for the current challenge at Art Journal Journey!

This month's theme is "Animals from A to Z" and is hosted by Rike!  You can learn more about her and her beautiful art by checking out her blog!

As I started to think about which animal I would scrap about, I took my cue from the Year of the Dog.  I had a photo of my daughter, Katie, and our dog, Nutcracker taken way back in 1999!  The two of them were inseperable from the moment Katie was born.  I remember whenever we took a walk with baby Katie, Cracker would alway get between a new person walking up to her stroller and her before "letting" the person take a look.

Here is my page:

And a close up:

With a different view:

I had a wonderful time making this layout for the AJJ challenge this month.  I want to thank Rike, Susi, and everyone there.  And I encourage you to check out their blog.  There are so many talented artists to get inspiration from!!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!  Love and hugs to all.

Take a Chance on Me!

Good Morning everyone!

Today I am sharing a layout that I made for this month’s Kraft+ Challenge!

Kraft+ wants us to be inspired by Abba during the month of February. I was excited when I saw this challenge because my husband, John, and I have always loved Abba's music and we enjoyed Mamma Mia on Broadway, too.

I chose to make a page using an old photo that I found of Anne and my co-worker's (at the time) daughter.  They both participated in a "Go Red for Women" fashion show at Macy's back in 2008.  Both girls were very nervous, but when they took each other's hand, it was like magic!!  They “took a chance" on each other and friendship that day.

Here's my completed page:

I used Kraft paper as my background, of course, and added Blue Fern Studios "Blissful" paper from their "In the Mood" collection.  To make it special, I wrote hidden journaling on the back of my page.

Here are 2 close-ups:

I enjoyed making this page for the fun Kraft+ Challenge.  I hope all of you scrappers get the chance to check it out this month!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.

Happy Scrapping!♥

February layouts for Blue Fern Studios!

Hi Everyone!

I am so happy to be here sharing the three layouts that I made for February using Blue Fern Studios products!

My first two layouts were made with the new and absolutely gorgeous "In the Mood" collection:

This collection just blew me away!  It is so perfect for those romantic, family, or love photos.

My First Layout:  Two Worlds, One Family:

I used a favorite photo of my daughters, Katie and Anne, taken back in 2005 on Valentine's Day.  I thought it would be wonderful to use lyrics from "Two Worlds, One Family" written by Phil Collins.

Isn't the paper beautiful?  I love the In the Mood collection!

I featured the paper "Ecstatic" here because of the beautiful, bold colors.  And I enjoyed using the magical Pixie Dust Embossing Powder on the Family and Doily Bunting chipboard pieces.  I also embossed directly on my page using the Brocade Texture stamp.

Here are some close ups:

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: In the Mood "Ecstatic"
Chipboard: Family, Doily Bunting, In the Mood Printed Chipboard Shapes, Homespun Printed Chipboard Shapes
Embossing Powder: Pixie Dust
Stamp: Brocade Texture
Flowers: Moody Florals, Christmas Blooms
Seedlings: Pink Topaz
Lace:  Lace 6

My Second Layout:  You Make Me Smile

I found an old photo of my daughter, Anne, and her friend, Ava, taken quite a few years ago.  Both girls are adopted from China and have remained friends over the years.  This warms my heart!

Again, I thoroughly loved using the paper from the In the Mood collection.  This time I picked "Flirty" to feature and "Dreamy" to use in my background.

Here are some close ups:

I also want toilet you know how much I loved working with the Celestial and Antique Gold embossing powders.

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: In the Mood "Flirty" and "Dreamy"
Chipboard: You Make Me Smile, Bits of Honey, In the Mood Printed Chipboard Shapes, Homespun Printed Chipboard Shapes
Embossing Powder:  Celestial, Antique Gold
Glitter: Pink Carnation
Flowers: Moody Florals
Seedlings: Pink Topaz
Lace:  Lace 11

Both of these pages are close to my heart and using Blue Fern Studios' In the Mood collection made them all the more enjoyable to scrap!

My Third LayoutBe Your Own Kind of Beautiful

And the last layout I created using the awesome Homespun collection:

 Here is my page:

My daughter, Anne, was a part of a fashion show "Go Red for Women,"  which supports and helps make women aware of their heart health in 2008.  A friend of mine took these photos and I still think they are adorable.

I used the Homespun collection this time and featured the beautiful "Picturesque" paper.

Some close ups:

It was fun making "curtains" for this page using the gorgeous Lace 6.

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: Homespun "Picturesque"
Chipboard: Braided Gem Frame, Homespun Printed Chipboard Shapes
Embossing Powder: Ivory
Glitter: Ruby Slipper
Flowers: Homespun Blooms
Seedlings: Beating Heart
Lace:  Lace 6

I hope you enjoyed seeing the layouts that I created as much as I loved making them.  It is so easy to create wonderful scrapbook pages when you have Blue Fern Studios products at your fingertips!

I Love You!

Hi everyone!
It's time for a new Challenge YOUrself challenge:

This month is all about using a Valentine's Day, heart, or love theme while using this color palette from Design Seeds:

And as always, those who participate cannot forget to include a photo with YOU on your page!

Here's what I came up with:

I have been going through old photos (trying to get more organized!) and found this one of John and I taken on our 10th anniversary, which was March 3, 2000.

That year, we splurged and planned a trip to NYC for our anniversary weekend. We made reservations at Tavern on the Green and thoroughly enjoyed the romantic meal we had!

I edited this photo, taken by our waiter, to black and white:

To make my page, I used paper from the newest Blue Fern Studios collection:  In the Mood!  It is absolutely perfect for romantic pages.  I used the "Dreamy" paper, the printed chipboard, and flowers from the "In the Mood" collection!

Here are some close ups:

I hope you get a chance to participate in the Challenge YOUrself challenge this month.  Perhaps you'll get a chance to scrap those photos about romance and love!!!

And also please head over to Blue Fern Studios blog to see what they are up to!!  There is always something beautiful to see there.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.

Hi everyone.  I hope January is treating you all nicely!!!

For this challenge, I used a photo that was taken of John, Katie, Anne, and me walking away from the camera . . . towards new adventures.

Here is the page I created:

I loved using papers and products from the Blue Fern Studios beautiful "Wanderlust" collection.

Here is a close up:

Blue Fern Studios Remnants layouts!

Good Morning Everyone!

I am very excited to be a part of the amazing Blue Fern Studios design team for 2018!
I cannot wait to share my first layouts with you.  Please check out the Blue Fern Studios blog to see what the talented design team members are creating!

First of all, I used the beautiful Remnants collection for all 3 of my pages this month:

And without further ado, here are my 3 layouts:

Layout #1:  Families are Forever

I used a photo of my twin sister (I told you we are identical!!), my older sister, and me from way back when!  My older sister passed away some years ago from ovarian cancer, and I miss her dearly . . .  I love this butterfly quote and thought it went perfectly with this paper and stamp from the Remnants collection.

My layout was made with love in my sister's memory.

Here are some close-ups:

I mounted my photo on the opposite side of the beautiful Beaumont paper from the Remnants collection.  Next I framed it with Dreamcatcher chipboard that I embossed with Blue Fern Garnet embossing powder.  I enjoyed adorning it wth the beautiful Remnants chipboard shapes and Remnants blooms, too!

To make my title, I embossed Families are Forever chipboard with Antique Gold embossing powder. Then sprinkled it with some lovely flaming and glass seedlings!

Here is another view:

My favorite part was using the butterfly quote by Dave Hedges to personalize it in memory of my dear sister.  The butterflies on the paper are just perfect here!!!!

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: Remnants Beaumont - both sides
Chipboard: Families are Forever, Dream Catcher, Branch Set, Remnants Printed Chipboard Shapes
Embossing Powder: Garnet, Antique Gold, Ivory
Glitter: Ruby Slippers
Stamp: Remnants Collage
Flowers: Remnants Florals, Homespun Blooms
Seedlings: Flaming, Glass
Lace:  Lace 3

Layout #2:  Find Joy in the Journey

This time I used a photo taken on the Asbury Park, NJ, boardwalk on a misty morning.  I was inspired by the moody and beautiful Remnants paper collection!

Here are some close ups:

I framed my photo with Remnants Mayfair and embossed the edges with Dark Chocolate embossing powder.  I also added 2 chipboard Industrial Corners embossed with Dark Chocolate embossing powder to add to the mood.

I enjoy stamping on my pages and love the Remnants Collage stamp!

This page was a labor of love for me.  I thoroughly enjoyed making it using all of the amazing Blue Fern products!!!

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: Remnants Callaway, Mayfair
Chipboard: Find Joy in the Journey, Industrial Corners, Remnants printed Chipboard shapes
Embossing Powder: Dark Chocolate
Glitter: Merlot
Stamp: Remnants Collage
Seedlings: Purple Haze, Mauve
Lace:  Ivory Braded Trim

Layout #3:  Live Your Dream

I absolutely LOVE the Remnants collection and couldn't stop creating with it.  I picked a photo of my mom taken long before she became a mom or a teacher, which was her dream.  It wasn't easy for women to go to college back then, and I always used her as my example!!

Here are some close ups:

I used the chipboard Live Your Dream as my title and embossed it with the gorgeous Copper embossing powder.  I also embossed the chipboard Braided Frame with Copper embossing powder to give my layout a cohesive feel.  Don't you just love the photo of my mom?  She was so stylish and beautiful!!!

I know I have said this before, but I just have to say again how much I love the Remnants collection and creating my 3 pages with it.

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: Remnants Highgate
Chipboard: Live Your Dream, Braided Frame, Remnants Printed Chipboard Shapes
Embossing Powder: Copper
Glitter: Mocha
Stamp: Remnants Collage
Flowers: Remnants Florals, Remnants Paper Blooms
Seedlings: Glass, Twig
Lace:  Lace 3

I hope you are inspired to make some scrapbook pages with your treasured photos.  And it doesn't have to take you forever to create pages when you have all of the Blue Fern Studios' products at your fingertips!

I can't wait to see you again next month with more inspiration from Blue Fern Studios.  In the mean time,  happy scrapping everyone!!

Grateful!

Hi Everyone!  Welcome a new week and a brand new year, too!  I would like to wish you all a very happy new year!!

Today I am sharing a layout that I made for the brand new Challenge YOUrself challenge:

This month, Challenge YOUrself would like you to create a layout using the inspiration song "You Rase Me Up" sung by Josh Groban.

Official Music Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJxrX42WcjQ

Lyrics:
"When I am down and oh my soul so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then I am still and wait here in the silence
Until you come and sit a while with me
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up, to more than I can be
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up, to more than I can be."

Songwriters: Brendan Graham, Rolf Lovland

Here is my take on the challenge:

I used the recent photo of John and I taken at Jacobsburg Park.  And I printed the lyrics on the beautiful Blue Fern Studios paper from the Remnants collection.  My embellishments are from Blue Fern Studios, too!

Some close ups:
